A Day Retreat

A personal retreat on a small working farm

A Day Retreat is a personal retreat on a small working farm in Port Angeles, Washington. It is an invitation to slow down, step away from the demands of everyday life, and reconnect with yourself and the world around you.

Spend a few hours among the sheep, the chickens, and Larry and Windy, the Llamas. Find a quiet place in the meadow, settle into a rocking chair with a cup of team, or simply sit and enjoy the company of an animal.

Each retreat is for one or two guests, with space for both solitude and conversation.

During your visit, you may choose to:

- Spend time with the animals, including a guided visit with Larry the Llama

- Sit in the meadow with a journal, book, or art materials

- Follow a set of reflection prompts based on a retreat theme

- Meet with an Episcopal priest for spiritual conversation

- Share in prayer or celebrate the Holy Eucharist

You do not need to be religious to take part. There is no expectation that you pray, speak, or produce anything. The time is yours.

A Suggested Schedule

A three-hour retreat might look like this. Times can change to suit you, and a two-hour visit follows the same pattern in less time.

10:00 to 10:20  Meet the llamas, Larry, Windy, the sheep, and the chickens. Help feed the animals and learn a little about life on the farm.

10:20 to 11:00  Take a llama for a walk or spend time with sheep and chickens

11:00 to 12:15  Self-guided retreat.  Spend time with your retreat notebook, explore the art supplies, or simply enjoy the quiet. Visit the Retreat Themes tab to explore the available reflection prompts and journals.

12:15 to 12:45  Optional pastoral conversation, Eucharist, or more time alone

12:45 to 1:00  Closing prayer if you wish, and departure

Choose Your Retreat Theme

Each guest receives a small notebook with reflection prompts and creative invitations on a theme of their choosing.

Rest and Renewal: what it means to slow down, release expectations, and find rest.

Finding Joy: the small moments of happiness, wonder, and connection in everyday life.

Seasons of Change: life's transitions, endings, and new beginnings.

Belonging and Connection: relationships, community, and your place in the world.

Gratitude and Wonder: the beauty and gifts found in ordinary moments.

Each notebook has questions for journaling and invitations to make art. Spiritual reflections can be included or left out; you choose when you request your visit. Follow the prompts, pick the ones that speak to you, or simply enjoy the quiet company of the animals.

There is no right way to retreat. The time is yours.
